The Cannon Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Pro Stock Royals Academy Royals at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
Cannon fell victim to Covenant Day and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bennett Miller was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
Meanwhile, Pro Stock Royals Academy waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Stampede. While the Royals didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
David Rowles spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.
At the plate, Pro Stock Royals Academy's win was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Alex Ramos, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Joseph Zaffarese was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Pro Stock Royals Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in three consecutive contests.
Pro Stock Royals Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Cannon, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Cannon has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Pro Stock Royals Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Cannon was able to grind out a solid victory over Pro Stock Royals Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 9-4. Will Cannon repeat their success, or does Pro Stock Royals Academy has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
