Broughton has enjoyed a six-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Enloe Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Broughton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
Broughton suffered their closest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Cardinal Gibbons by a score of 57-54. While losing is never fun, Broughton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while Cardinal Gibbons is ranked 84th).
Harrison Peatross put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 18 points along with two steals. Jordan Page was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Enloe's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 53-41 to Sanderson.
Broughton has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Enloe, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-14.
Broughton strolled past Enloe in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 52-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Broughton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
