The Arcanum Trojans will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Northmont Thunderbolts at 7:15 p.m. on February 5th. Hopefully Arcanum focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Thursday.
In what's become a running theme this season, Arcanum gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Franklin Monroe 49-22 on the road. Given Arcanum's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while the Jets are ranked 622nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Arcanum can attribute much of their success to Brooke Anderson, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals, and Alexis Gibbons, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Matty Noe, who scored six points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Northmont was beaten by the Panthers 75-40 on Wednesday.
Arcanum is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Northmont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
