4A Region 2 recap November 5, 2013
Rosa Fort extended the longest winning streak in 4A Region 2 this week by beating Senatobia, 22-13. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Lions.
Lafayette took down Byhalia 50-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. Devin Thomas threw for 87 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 42 yards during the win.
Tyrell Price was a beast in the backfield as the Commodores bested the Indians.
Price was a passing and rushing force as Lafayette defeated Byhalia. Price's key target this week was Dillon Helm, who caught 2 passes for 36 yards.
Thomas and Price gave Eric Robertson's team a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. DK Buford also contributed to the rushing game with 72 yards on the ground.
Christian Johnson of the Ripley is only 92 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Johnson has rushed for 908 yards on 128 carries so far this year.
The Warriors made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,012 from 8,350. The improvement was largely due to a 22-13 victory over Senatobia last week.
