The Millennium Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 13th straight loss. They were beaten by Leadership Academy 67-12. Millennium has struggled against Leadership Academy recently, as their game on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Leadership Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Will Martin, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. Landon Burleyson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Millennium's defeat was their 13th straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-13. As for Leadership Academy, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Millennium will square off against Bishop McGuinness at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop McGuinness presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Millennium in North Carolina (Bishop McGuinness is ranked 224th, while Millennium is ranked 681st). As for Leadership Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Cornerstone Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cornerstone Charter has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
