The Roosevelt Roughriders will head out on the road to take on the Ballard Beavers at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Roosevelt stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They blew past Lincoln 78-43 at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-14.
Lawrence Bailey and Jalen Dollar were among the main playmakers for Roosevelt as the former scored 17 points and the latter scored 18 points. That's the first time this season that Bailey scored 15 or more points. Dante Washington was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Ballard earned a 54-44 victory over Chief Sealth on Wednesday. Given Ballard's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while Chief Sealth is ranked 335th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Roosevelt has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Ballard, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Roosevelt against Ballard in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 78-46 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Roosevelt since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
