The South Bend Riley Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Glenn Falcons at 7:30 p.m. South Bend Riley has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 4.
Last Thursday, South Bend Riley came up short against Mishawaka Marian and fell 38-28.
Despite their defeat, South Bend Riley saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Lucy Franko, who scored 5 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals, was perhaps the best of all. Franko has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tory Harmon, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 18 rebounds.
Mishawaka typically have all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Glenn proved too difficult a challenge. Glenn strolled past Mishawaka with points to spare, taking the game 44-25.
Glenn's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dani Divine, who scored 14 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Divine has scored at least 25% of Glenn's points. Sophia Romer was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 3 steals.
South Bend Riley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Glenn, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: South Bend Riley have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 24.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Glenn struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
