The Muir Mustangs will face off against the Los Altos Conquerors at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Muir barely beat Mountain View the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Muir never let Mountain View get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Tuesday. The victory was just business as usual for the Mustangs, who after three games remain undefeated this season.
Abigail (Abi) Milton was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariel (Shorty) Flores, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Muir always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .542. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain View only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, Los Altos had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against Norwalk on Thursday as Los Altos made off with an 11-1 win.
Kaylahni Duenas was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Duenas was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brianah Alejandre, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stole at least one in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season. Isys Garcia was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
Muir's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.4 runs. As for Los Altos, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
