Football Recap: Orem Skates Past Woods Cross with Ease

Orem had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Woods Cross Wildcats 35-7. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven contests by 28 points or more so far this season.

Kaue Akana was nothing short of spectacular: he picked up 134 receiving yards and one score. That's the most receiving yards he has posted since back in October of 2024.

Orem was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 201 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 153 rushing yards in eight consecutive matchups.

Orem pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.8 points on average over those games. As for Woods Cross, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.

Looking ahead, Orem will square off against West at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Tigers 12.5, the Panthers 7.5) so any points scored will be well earned. Woods Cross does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
