The Whitmer Panthers were the 37-34 winner over the Perrysburg Yellow Jackets when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Whitmer took a 40-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Perrysburg on Thursday. Whitmer has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mackenzie Royal-davis, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Royal-davis hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jada Shoup, who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds.
Whitmer's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Perrysburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Whitmer will head out on the road to square off against Bedford at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bedford will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Perrysburg, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Napoleon at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Napoleon is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
