The Washington Academy Raiders will take on the Foxcroft Academy Ponies at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Washington Academy knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Foxcroft Academy likes a good challenge.
Washington Academy's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 21-0 margin over Sumner. Fans of the Raiders have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Parker Cates made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Washington Academy got a massive performance out of Colby Moholland, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Moholland has posted since back in May of 2024. Trevor Shimabukuro was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Washington Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Foxcroft Academy was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They lost 10-1 to Washington Academy. The game marked the Ponies' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
Foxcroft Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thomas Day, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Washington Academy pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Foxcroft Academy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Washington Academy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like Foxcroft Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Washington Academy took their victory against Foxcroft Academy when the teams last played on Friday by a conclusive 10-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
