There's no place like home for the Timberlake Tigers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Thursday. They strolled past Deer Park with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 65-50. Given Timberlake's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 87th in Idaho, while Deer Park is ranked 266th in Washington), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Timberlake's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Yetter, who scored 18 points along with five steals. That's the first time this season that Yetter scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Engelson, who scored 19 points.
Timberlake's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for Deer Park, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Timberlake will head out on the road to face off against Lakeland at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Lakeland's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Deer Park will be home for the holidays to greet Rogers at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
