Basketball Recap: First Baptist Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Timothy De La Rosa and Noah Napier

First Baptist Academy lost against Heritage Christian last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The First Baptist Academy Eagles fell 56-46 to the Heritage Christian Eagles.

First Baptist Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Noah Napier, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds, and Timothy De La Rosa, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten assists. Napier has become a key player for First Baptist Academy: the team is 7-3 when he posts at least eight boards, but 8-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Xaidyn McKennon, who posted five points and eight rebounds.

First Baptist Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 15-13. As for Heritage Christian, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.

First Baptist Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-32 victory against River City Believers Academy on the 28th. As for Heritage Christian, they are taking a road trip to take on Gateway Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Heritage Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Gateway Christian likes a good challenge.
