Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, the Riesel Indians couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 20-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cayuga. Riesel's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cayuga to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gunner Douglas, who rushed for 70 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 46 yards and a touchdown. Whit Jenkins and his 82 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Cayuga's win.
Riesel's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Cayuga, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Riesel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cayuga is on the road again on Friday and play against Tolar at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. One thing working in Tolar's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last eight games.
