There's no place like home for the Alief Taylor Lions, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Tuesday. They managed a 43-39 victory over Alief Elsik on Friday. Given Alief Taylor's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 194th, while Alief Elsik is ranked 552nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Alief Taylor's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Bush-lewis, who scored 17 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nataliyah Gray, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Alief Taylor pushed their record up to 13-6 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Alief Elsik, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alief Taylor will be home for the holidays to greet Alvin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Alvin is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. Alief Elsik will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pasadena at 1:00 p.m. on December 27th. Hopefully Pasadena focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 46 on Tuesday.
