Even though the South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] Patriots scored an imposing 56 points on Saturday, the Kim/Branson Mustangs still came out on top. Kim/Branson took their matchup against South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] 64-56. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Kim/Branson.
Kim/Branson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kolter Cranson led the charge by scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Trotter Watkins, who scored 18 points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] still got an impressive performance from Landen Stegman, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. Dallas Calzonetti was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kim/Branson only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
Kim/Branson has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. As for South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett], they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Kim/Branson will square off against Centennial at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Kim/Branson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday. South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Wiley at 4:00 p.m. on February 13th.
