This season hasn't been kind to The Riverdale Raiders, who are still winless after their tenth matchup. They had to suffer through a rough 56-0 loss at the hands of Whitewater. While losing is never fun, Riverdale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 396th, while Whitewater is ranked 188th).
Whitewater had a senior duo take command as Corey Richardson gained 58 total yards and two touchdowns and Gavin Owen rushed for 52 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.
Riverdale's loss was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-10. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 12-2 Troup County and 7-2 LaGrange (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 74.1% over those games). As for Whitewater, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Riverdale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Whitewater will be playing at home against Starr's Mill at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Starr's Mill is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
