Basketball Recap: Trinity Collegiate Falls Short Against Ranked North Augusta

On Saturday, Trinity Collegiate faced North Augusta in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Trinity Collegiate Titans took a 58-41 bruising from the North Augusta Yellow Jackets. The game marked the Titans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

North Augusta got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Celena Grant (New) out in front who went 8 for 10 on her way to 20 points and seven rebounds. Grant (New)'s afternoon made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Ashley Walker was another key player, putting up 15 points along with seven boards and six assists.

With the loss, Trinity Collegiate broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-2. As for North Augusta, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity Collegiate will challenge Hilton Head Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Augusta, they will face off against Aiken at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Augusta is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season.
