Star Valley has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Preston Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Star Valley will be strutting in after a victory while Preston will be coming in after a defeat.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Star Valley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Soda Springs and snuck past 71-69. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Star Valley has posted yet this season.
It was another big night for Emily Dana, who scored 25 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sheridan Coles, who scored 19 points.
Preston suffered their biggest loss since November 30, 2023 on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 52-22 loss at the hands of Pocatello. Preston has not had much luck with Pocatello recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Star Valley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-7 record this season. As for Preston, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.
Star Valley was able to grind out a solid win over Preston in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, winning 37-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for Star Valley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
