Dover is 1-8 against Perryville since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Dover Pirates will head out on the road to square off against the Perryville Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Dover is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
Dover pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 62-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lamar. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Dover in their matchups with Lamar: they've now lost nine in a row.
Even though Perryville has not done well against Baptist Prep recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Perryville strolled past Baptist Prep with points to spare, taking the game 46-32.
Dover has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which is still a better percentage than their 4-14 record this season. As for Perryville, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13.
Dover strolled past Perryville in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 54-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dover since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
