Wickenburg Christian Academy has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet Caurus Academy at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Wickenburg Christian Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 25 points or more this season. They blew past Telesis Prep 66-35 on the road. With Wickenburg Christian Academy ahead 47-20 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Wickenburg Christian Academy can attribute much of their success to Evan Gustin, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Justen Smith, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Caurus Academy put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 46-36 victory over Verde Valley. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Caurus Academy has scored all season.
Wickenburg Christian Academy pushed their record up to 4-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Caurus Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
Everything came up roses for Wickenburg Christian Academy against Caurus Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 55-21 win.
