Grace is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Santa Rosa Academy. Grace simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Santa Rosa Academy 42-6 on the road. The Lancers pushed the score to 35-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rangers had little chance of recovering from.
Ethan Lasecla had a dynamite game for Grace, rushing for 165 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.2 yards per carry, and also throwing for 202 yards and a touchdown. Jake Williams was Lasecla's top target, rushing for 62 yards and a touchdown.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Grace was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 452 total yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Santa Rosa Academy only gained 287.
Meanwhile, Arrowhead Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Yucca Valley on Saturday and fell 21-19.
Despite their loss, Arrowhead Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Max Hilliard, who rushed for 147 yards while picking up 8.6 yards per carry, was perhaps the best of all. Hilliard's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards.
Grace came up short against Arrowhead Christian when the teams last played back in September of 2023, falling 34-28.
