The McNair Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 18th straight defeat. They fell 67-55 to Landmark Christian. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for McNair in their matchups with the War Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.
McNair's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamar Gooden, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four blocks. Isaiah Wise was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with four steals.
McNair's loss was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-22. As for Landmark Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McNair will square off against the Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Eagle's Landing Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Mustangs in Georgia (the Chargers are ranked 81st, while the Mustangs are ranked 521st). As for Landmark Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Raiders at 3:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Redan is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
