Ashlan Smokey and Emjae Salanoa were among the main playmakers for Carson as the former went 13-for-32 on her way to 33 points and four steals and the latter shot 53% from the field en route to 17 points and three steals. Salanoa continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Camila Rosas was another key player, putting up eight points.
Meanwhile, Dayton unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. The contest between the Dust Devils and Douglas didn't end well, with the Dust Devils falling 58-40.
Carson's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Dayton, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
