Morro Bay is 8-2 against the Spartans since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Morro Bay Pirates will be playing at home against the Orcutt Academy Spartans at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Morro Bay came up short against the Conquistadores and fell 48-35. Morro Bay has not had much luck with the Conquistadores recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Morro Bay might have lost, but man, Justin Campbell was a machine: he scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jake Falat, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, Orcutt Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their tenth straight loss. They fell to Santa Maria 76-72. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (59), Orcutt Academy still had to take the loss.
Morro Bay now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Orcutt Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season.
Morro Bay didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Spartans in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 57-52 victory.
