The Cloquet Lumberjacks entered their tilt with the Cromwell Cardinals with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Cloquet was the clear victor by a 80-58 margin over Cromwell. Cloquet might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three matches by 22 points or more this season.
Cromwell's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dylan Nyberg, who scored 17 points. Nyberg scored a full 29.3% of Cromwell's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Brady Dahl was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Cloquet's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Cromwell, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-1.
Cloquet will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Barnum at 7:15 p.m. Cromwell won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mesabi East at 2:45 p.m. on December 28th. Mesabi East will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings (they are ranked 298th, while Cromwell is ranked 76th).
