After a string of four wins, the Saxony Lutheran Crusaders's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to Jefferson 60-54. Saxony Lutheran was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Jefferson apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Luke Eggemeyer, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds. Eggemeyer has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last 17 times he's played. John Hartmann was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Saxony Lutheran's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-8. As for Jefferson, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-5.
Saxony Lutheran didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-41 win vs. Chaffee on the 8th. Jefferson has also already played their next match, a 75-59 victory against DeSoto on the 7th.
