Owyhee has won three straight games at home, while Eagle has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. The Storm will host the Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Owyhee 3.2, Eagle 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Owyhee is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Middleton, who was ranked fifth at the time (Owyhee was ranked second). The Storm blew past the Vikings 16-1 on Thursday. Considering the Storm have won 14 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Christian Zannitto was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nathan Keith, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Robertson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Owyhee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Middleton only posted a batting average of .118.
Meanwhile, Eagle won against Boise on Tuesday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Mustangs walked away with a 5-1 win over Mountain View.
Stephen Egan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits.
At the plate, Eagle's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sam Palfreyman, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Owyhee's win bumped their record up to 21-5. As for Eagle, their victory bumped their record up to 18-5.
Owyhee's speedy runners might be the difference in Saturday's contest. The Storm have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Eagle, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Owyhee continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Owyhee's way against Eagle in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Owyhee made off with a 14-0 win. Will the Storm repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
