Schuylkill Valley secured a 56-52 W over Tamaqua. The win made it back-to-back wins for Schuylkill Valley.
Despite the loss, Tamaqua still got an impressive performance from Noah Mateyak, who scored 25 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Luke Kane, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Schuylkill Valley pushed their record up to 6-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Tamaqua, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Schuylkill Valley will challenge Hamburg at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hamburg will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 697th, while Schuylkill Valley is ranked 297th). Tamaqua won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Pine Grove at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th. Pine Grove is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
