The Lyons Lions will challenge the Front Range Baptist Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lyons has four straight wins, Front Range Baptist has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
While Lyons didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Bishop Machebeuf by a score of 39-32 on Friday. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by exactly seven points.

Lyons' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Vasquez, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 18 rebounds. Those 16 points gave Vasquez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bree Bonner, who posted four points in addition to 12 boards and three steals.
Lyons smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Front Range Baptist played a tough matchup back in December of 2024 in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 56-15 loss at the hands of Briggsdale. The game marked Front Range Baptist's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Karis Boggs was Front Range Baptist's leading scorer, having posted five points. Hadyn Woods took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with five assists.
Lyons pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points per game. As for Front Range Baptist, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Lyons has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 31.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Front Range Baptist struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.2 boards.
