The North Creek Jaguars will head out on the road to take on the Issaquah Eagles at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. North Creek's hitters haven't had much luck over their past five matchups, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
North Creek will bounce into Monday's contest after beating Skyline, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Jaguars came out on top against the Spartans on Friday by a score of 2-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Cayden Christopherson made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over 6.1 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Christopherson wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brady Miller, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Issaquah fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Bainbridge on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 6-5.
Nathan McBride was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 4-for-5. Drew Ness also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Issaquah's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6. As for North Creek, their record is now 8-5.
North Creek's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's matchup. The Jaguars have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Issaquah, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will North Creek continue to outrun the ball?
North Creek came out on top in a nail-biter against Issaquah in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 6-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
