In what's become a running theme this season, the Silver Valley Trojans gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They really took it to Riverside Prep for the full four quarters, racking up a 83-43 victory on the road. The victory was familiar territory for Silver Valley who now have 18 in a row.
Silver Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Javion Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Walker, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Riverside Prep had strong showings from Keion Jordan, who scored ten points, and Marrion Brown, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Silver Valley's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-1. As for Riverside Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Silver Valley will challenge Lucerne Valley on Friday. Lucerne Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1403rd, while Silver Valley is ranked 676th). As for Riverside Prep, they will head out on the road to square off against Academy for Academic Excellence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Academy for Academic Excellence has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
