The Tabb Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their eighth straight loss. They fell 54-43 to Petersburg. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tabb in their matchups with the Crimson Wave: they've now lost three in a row.
Tabb lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Micah Marbra, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Marbra has scored all season. Landon Powell was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Tabb dropped their record down to 3-14 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Petersburg, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-8.
Tabb will be playing at home against the Packers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Smithfield presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Tigers in Virginia (the Packers are ranked 134th, while the Tigers are ranked 325th). As for Petersburg, they will head out on the road to challenge the Warriors at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Matoaca's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.
