Veterans Memorial hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, Los Fresnos was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of San Benito. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Greyhounds recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Los Fresnos saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Harmony Moore, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
Veterans Memorial has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-13 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Los Fresnos, they now have a losing record of 11-12-1.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Veterans Memorial hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .335. However, it's not like Los Fresnos struggles in that department as they've averaged .329. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Veterans Memorial's way against Los Fresnos when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Veterans Memorial made off with a 15-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
