The Marsing Huskies will head out on the road to take on the New Plymouth Pilgrims at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Marsing is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season.
Marsing will bounce into Wednesday's match after beating Nampa Christian, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Huskies sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Trojans on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Huskies have posted against the Trojans since April 24, 2023.

Luke Steinmeyer was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jace Chadez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday New Plymouth sidestepped Parma for a 4-2 win.
Blayk Cockerum made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs. He is becoming a predictor of New Plymouth's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 5-8 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaden Hawker, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run. He has become a key player for New Plymouth: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 5-8 otherwise. Waylon Evins also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
New Plymouth's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-9. As for Marsing, their record is now 12-6.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Marsing has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.6 hits per game. However, it's not like New Plymouth struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Marsing's way against New Plymouth in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Marsing made off with a 9-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
