There's no place like home for the Murphy Panthers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against Blount by a score of 59-50 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Murphy also won the last time the pair played on January 12th.
Murphy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kinley Simmons led the charge by scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Cleaven Brisker, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Murphy's win bumped their record up to 19-9. As for Blount, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-16.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Murphy will face off against Davidson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Blount, they will head out on the road to challenge Jackson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
