Basketball Recap: City Baptist School Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask City Baptist School). They blew past the Bible Baptist Eagles 59-38 on Thursday. The Overcomers pushed the score to 50-23 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.

When it comes to explaining why Bible Baptist lost, don't look at David Stapleton. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 9 on his way to 20 points. With that strong performance, Stapleton is now averaging an impressive 15.7 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Clayton Luchene, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

The victory was the fourth in a row for City Baptist School, bringing their record for this year to 4-2. As for Bible Baptist, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-4.
