Softball Recap: Scott County Extends Winning Streak to Four

Scott County entered their tilt with Taft on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 12-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won 11 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Brylee Roberts looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Aubrey Wigginton and Lauren Jones did most of the damage at the plate: Wigginton scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances, while Jones scored a run while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Maddie Skibo, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Scott County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Taft only posted an OBP of .296.

Scott County's record is now 12-1. As for Taft, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Scott County is taking a road trip to take on Bryan Station at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Taft, they will face off against Oak Harbor at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
