Basketball Recap: Northwestern Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Peyton Roseberry and Lilly Bushey

If Northwestern was feeling good fresh off their 47-11 takedown of Northeastern last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Northwestern Warriors came up short against the Graham Local Falcons on Saturday, falling 72-49. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now lost five in a row.

Despite the defeat, Northwestern had strong showings from Lilly Bushey, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 boards, and Peyton Roseberry, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten blocks. With that strong performance, Bushey is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game.

Even though they lost, Northwestern smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since the start of last season.

Graham Local's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bailey Britton, who went 7 for 12 en route to 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. Britton continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Zoey Conn, who went 6 of 9 on her way to 14 points and six boards.

Northwestern's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Graham Local, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-11.

Northwestern will venture away from home to challenge Shawnee at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Graham Local, they will host North Union at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Graham Local is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.3 points per game this season.
