The Tift County Blue Devils's season-opener on Tuesday wasn't quite what the team was looking for considering the end result. Neither they nor Perry could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The outcome might've been different if Edwin Hernandez hadn't been hit with a yellow card, which no doubt limited his ability to make aggressive plays down the stretch.
Tift County's goal came courtesy of
Cristian Salazar.
Perry's draw gives them a new season record of 0-1-1.
Tift County will be playing at home against Cook at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tift County will be up against Cook's rather soft defense (which has allowed six goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive showing. As for Perry, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Academy for Classical Education at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
