If the P.K. Yonge Blue Wave were feeling good off their 78-57 takedown of the Interlachen Rams last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. P.K. Yonge took a 62-48 bruising from the Hornets on Thursday. While losing is never fun, P.K. Yonge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 339th, while the Hornets are ranked 116th).
P.K. Yonge lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jantzen Griffin, who scored 17 points. Jack Muller was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
It was another big night for CJ Ingram, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds for Hawthorne. Ingram is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 18 or more in the last ten games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dacarion Debose, who scored 11 points along with five assists.
P.K. Yonge dropped their record down to 9-12 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Hawthorne, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-4.
P.K. Yonge will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Tornadoes at 7:30 p.m. Bradford is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Hawthorne, they will head out on the road to take on the Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Eastside focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
