The Middle Creek Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Apex Friendship Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Middle Creek will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 399th, while Apex Friendship is ranked 153rd).
Even though Middle Creek has not done well against Green Hope recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Middle Creek blew past Green Hope 74-52. That 74-52 margin sets a new team best for Middle Creek this season.
Middle Creek's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Greyson Land, who scored 21 points. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Yasir Hall, who scored 21 points.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Apex Friendship's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 68-55 to Holly Springs. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Middle Creek is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season. As for Apex Friendship, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-1.
