Latrell Carter Earns League's Top Spot
Starting off the list is Pine Forest's Latrell Carter, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Carter rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, and also picked up 65 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 51 yards.
Pine Forest is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season. Carter and Pine Forest will square off against Triton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

For the year, Whittington has run in 3 touchdowns while averaging 38.3 rushing yards per game.

Moore Made His Presence Known in Pine Forest's 52-32 Win
Jaidon Moore posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He threw for 181 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes, and also rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
This year, Moore has thrown 12 touchdowns while averaging 151.3 passing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 2.14 passing yards per game.

Kelly Came Up Big in Overhills' 12-8 Defeat
Overhills was sadly handed a defeat on Friday, but Logan Kelly did his best to prevent it. Kelly was unstoppable, picking up two sacks and making 13 total tackles (3.0 for loss). Overhills is 2-1 when Kelly posts four or more total tackles, but 1-3 otherwise.
Overhills' loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-4. Kelly will have a chance to log another big game when he takes on Harnett Central on Friday.
