Even though the Lyman Greyhounds scored an imposing 55 points on Monday, the Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks still came out on top. Cornerstone Charter Academy took their matchup against Lyman 63-55. For Cornerstone Charter Academy, this counts as revenge for the 74-22 defeat Lyman walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2022.
Cornerstone Charter Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremiah Wade, who scored 21 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wade has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Lebron, who scored 22 points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Lyman still got an impressive performance from Jamarius Joyner, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Joyner continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Davion Jones was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Cornerstone Charter Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Lyman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-11.
Cornerstone Charter Academy will be playing at home against Space Coast at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lyman, they will head out on the road to face off against Winter Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Winter Springs presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lyman in Florida (Winter Springs is ranked 219th, while Lyman is ranked 457th).
