The Van Nuys Wolves will take on the Los Angeles CES Unicorns at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Van Nuys is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Valor Academy as they made off with a 26-4 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Wolves, who have now won three matchups in a row.
YVETTE CANUTO made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. CANUTO was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, ARIEL PUENTE was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was KIMBERLY NUNEZ, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs.
Van Nuys was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .704. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Los Angeles CES can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 24-4 margin over Discovery. The Unicorns' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Lily Munoz was incredible, going 4-for-5 with six RBI, three runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Julie Segel, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Los Angeles CES' win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Van Nuys, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
