Baseball Recap: Geneva Wins Going Away Against Daleville

Geneva never let their opponents score on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Daleville Warhawks. Considering the Panthers have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Haze Ammons was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Ammons was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Judson Wise was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February. Jacob Rose also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Geneva has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. Daleville is on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Geneva wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 9-8 win against Houston Academy on the 25th. As for Daleville, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Ashford at 5:00 p.m. on April 1.
