Two dominant backs in Chase Hanosh and Ryken Banks are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Valor Christian Eagles will face off against the Legend Titans at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Valor Christian sitting on five straight wins and Legend on seven.
Valor Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Erie 70-28. Considering the Eagles have won nine games by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Valor Christian found their leader in sophomore Titus Huard, who threw for 309 yards and three TDs while picking up 13.4 yards per attempt, and also punched in a pair of touchdowns on the ground. Those 309 passing yards set a new season-high mark for Huard. Valor Christian also got help from Cash Spence, who showed off his sure hands for 130 receiving yards.
Valor Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 298 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.
Meanwhile, Legend won against Regis Jesuit back in October with 42 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Titans beat Fort Collins by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 42-28.
The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Banks and Jack McKeon. Banks had a great game and rushed for 253 yards and a pair of scores. Meanwhile, McKeon was balling out in the loss, rushing for 130 yards, while also catching one TD.
Legend didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Freddie Burke and Braylon Aukland, who each picked up one interception apiece.
Valor Christian's record is now 9-2. As for Legend, their record now sits at 10-1.
Saturday's contest might be decided on the ground. Valor Christian has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 177.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Legend struggles in that department as they've been averaging 184.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Valor Christian came up short against Legend in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, falling 20-13. Thankfully for the Eagles, Jaden Lawrence (who rushed for 198 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry, and also picked up 34 receiving yards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
