The Westwood Cardinals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ridgefield Park Scarlets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Westwood will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
Last Friday, Westwood made easy work of Lakeland Regional and carried off a 30-7 victory. Fans of Westwood have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
It was another big night for Robbie Carcich, who threw for 213 yards and two touchdowns while completing 81.3% of his passes.
Meanwhile, Ridgefield Park and Dumont were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but Ridgefield Park suffered an agonizing 29-28 loss. Ridgefield Park has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Ridgefield Park had strong showings from Francisco Then, who rushed for 85 yards and two touchdowns, and Shea Losino, who picked up 114 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Losino is on a roll when it comes to solo tackles, as he's now made six or more in the last four games he's played.
Westwood's victory was their fourth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 7-0. Ridgefield Park has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Westwood against Ridgefield Park in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 28-0 victory. Does Westwood have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ridgefield Park turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
