The North Duplin Rebels will head out on the road to take on the Neuse Charter Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
After soaring to a 40-point win in their last game, North Duplin came back down to earth on Wednesday. They fell just short of Spring Creek by a score of 64-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the defeat, North Duplin got a solid performance out of Dujuan Armwood, who scored 28 points. Armwood hasn't dropped below 15points for eight straight games. Treshawn Ruffin was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
Neuse Charter suffered their biggest defeat since November 24, 2023 last Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 76-38 loss at the hands of Franklin Academy.
Despite the loss, Neuse Charter got a solid performance out of Jayvin Bradley, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds. That was a full 55.3% of Neuse Charter's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Atkinson, who scored two points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
North Duplin has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Neuse Charter, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-14.
North Duplin took a serious blow against Neuse Charter when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 86-47. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point North Duplin was down 50-20.
