The Jones Longhorns had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They breezed by Chandler on the road to the tune of 57-28. The result was nothing new for Jones, who have now won four games by 22 points or more so far this season.
Jones got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaiah Sawyer out in front who rushed for 203 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Clayton Creasey, who rushed for 52 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
Jones' win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29 points. As for Chandler, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2.
Jones will take on Kellyville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kellyville comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Chandler, they will head out on the road to face off against Star-Spencer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Star-Spencer will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 158th, while Chandler is ranked 45th).
